The proposed Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in Yishun got itself a Board of Directors to deliver its mission to be a hassle-free and
patient-centric one.
Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan announced the appointment of the Board at a 'Healthy Community Up North!' event on October 7. The event was organised by North West Community Development Council, Sembawang GRC, Nee Soon Central Constituency, Health Promotion Board, PUB and Urban Renewal Authority. "We made some effort to scout around... and we looked for talent from different sectors. The idea is to stretch their imagination. We would like to get them to 'be wild' and think out of the box so that they can push the boundary (and) look at crazy ideas," said Mr Khaw.
 Led by President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Ascott Group Jennie Chua, the Board, which has a three-year tenure, includes those
from outside the medical field such as Apex Pal International CEO Douglas Foo; Citi Private Bank managing director and region head Tan
Su Shan; Mr Ramlee Buang, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cerebos Pacific and Mr Tham Kui Seng, Chief Corporate Officer of CapitaLand Limited. Ms Jennie Chua welcomes the diversity: "The Board comprises many private sector people from different disciplines, backgrounds and experience. So there’s a lot of value the board can bring to the management."
